Tuesday Talmud Torah - After School Cheder
Comparable to physical nourishment, early Jewish education is equally vital. The impressions left with the child are not erasable and are everlasting. Our Talmud Torah aims to plant the seeds of love, pride and knowledge of Judaism at this impressionable age.
We offer a comprehensive program using a professional curriculum tailored for ages 5 -13. We provide individual attention as children learn social, moral values, and behaviour. Through arts, crafts, and exceptional educational methods, children learn the Hebrew Alphabet, the Hebrew language, holidays, traditions, Israeli culture & Ivrit , songs, games, and much more.
Cheder is on Tuesdays during school
term.
- Tuesday Afternoon from 3:30pm - 5:00pm
At King Solomon College
facilities. 16 Ghilgai Road, Merrimac.
The Talmud Torah format includes the entire family in its
programs. Special pre-holiday events, such as a Shofar factory,
model Pesach Seder, Shabbat services and family Shabbatons
are arranged for children and parents in order to acquaint
them with the various topics and ideas taught in the Cheder.
This encourages the parents and children to grow together,
in their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of being
Jewish. Call Rabbi Gurevitch for more information on 07 5570 1851.
Public School Religon Hour
Specially catered Jewish learning classes are provided
for the children in various State schools, such as Surfers
Paradise, Robina & Benowa on weekly basis. Curriculum
covers Hebrew reading & writing, Jewish history, laws
& customs coupled with Jewish songs and activities.
Camp Gan-Israel
A Jewish day camp can be more important and productive
than year-round formal Jewish education. It is the opportunity
to experience first hand a complete day-to-day atmosphere
of Jewish living; for others it is the warm atmosphere and
fun-filled activities of camp that make the difference in
being a proud Jew; yet for others, camp represents individual
attention and personal friendship which is direly needed.
Camp Gan Israel is providing the Gold Coast Jewish Community
with a great service for all parents, but even greater for
children. For approximately a week or ten days during the
school holiday break, our camp is filled with fun and joy.
Over the years, camping has proven to be a major factor in
the preservation of Jewish ideals and identification in our
children. In camp Gan Israel the mood is relaxed, the spirit
is friendly, the staff devoted, the attention is personal
and the activities are exciting.
Camp Gan Israel satisfies all. Within a camp program of sports,
games, and fun excursions. Through arts and crafts, Chalah
baking, dance and music, Shabbat celebrations and numerous
other activities , the children experience first hand the
treasures of Judaism in a joyful atmosphere, with short and
brief sessions of Jewish themes and topics.
Our Madrichot-youth leaders are themselves dedicated to Jewish
life and represent a role model to the children. Each and
every one of them is unique with their personal warmth, and
care for the individual child. |
