• Purim in Japan – This year our Purim theme will be Japan.  With an incredible 10 person Arakan Martial Art  Karate team performance for all the children...  Talented Balloon King Artist..  Fancy Dress Contest & Prizes.. Sushi, Sake and Hamentshens...Music, Dancing, Raffle & more..   Come along with your Ninja, Samurai, Sumo or Japanese costume. Saturday Night, Feb. 27, 2010 at  7:30pm.  Checkout the flyer.

• Special Rosh Chodesh evening for women - A history of religious and cultural Jewish music - You are invited to participate in a wonderful evening of  song and dance as we journey  through the songs and music of the Jewish people throughout history.  Performances by Marianne McCormack and Coco Bahat, narrated by Dina Gurevitch.  Special performance by Sally Yarrow, Celia Beare and Shaina Gurevitch.  Musical accompaniment by Toni Goriss (piano) and Bernadette Bird (violin).  Sunday, 14 February at 7:00pm. • Our Talmud Torah Cheder - We welcome back our past and new students on Sunday 31 January 2010.  Our Sunday school runs every Sunday  from 9:30-11:30am at the Gold Coast Hebrew Congregation - Join other children attending our Cheder classes for an educational and stimulating time. Your child will enjoy learning and exploring their heritage through fun, games and arts & crafts with the company of other children. For further info contact us on 5570 1851.

• New JLI  course have begun on every Monday at 7:30pm -  Fully Booked for this semester. An exciting Jewish educational program - Journey into the Soul of the Weekly Torah Portion – a 1o week journey.  This course provides the participants with coherent, relevant and usable body of Jewish learning. • Weekly Adult Education: - JLI Lecture Series on Monday’s- at 7:30pm –   Talmud class - Thursday’s 8:00pm at the Rabbi’s home. Shabbat Afternoon shiur @ 6:00pm.  Afternoon weekly insight: between Mincha and Maariv at 6:00pm

• Bikur Cholim – Sick Visitations -  If you know of anyone who is in hospital, Nursing home or needs a home visit please call our office. We regularly visit and extend emotional, physical and spiritual care to those bound in hospitals or elsewhere. • Mezuzah Campaign – going from home to home... Protecting Jewish Homes With Tradition –  The Gold Coast Hebrew Congregation will organise to have your Mezuzah checked or a new one put-up.
  
  Over 255 Mezuzot have been placed at various homes.  For more information please  contact the Shule on 55 701 851.  Please note that our Shule’s Judaica shop features a wide variety of beautiful Mezuzah cases to choose from.

• The Alex and Hetty Goldstein Jewish Library - is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between  9:30- 1:00pm.   Become a  member of our library and take advantage of the large selections of books.  Tel. our office on 5570 1851  for more information.

• Our kosher shop is open Monday – Wednesday and Friday 9:30-1:00pm.  Please visit our Kosher shop offering new & exciting range of Kosher products and Deli goods,  Israeli dips and dairy goods.  35 Markwell Ave,  Surfers Paradise.
